South Park returns this week and its creators are pulling no punches, taking aim at US white supremacists in the season premiere.

Titled 'White People Renovating Houses', the episode is described by Comedy Central as "Randy coming to grips with what it means to be white in today's society" while "protesters armed with tiki torches and confederate flags take to the streets of South Park."

The mention of tiki torches is a direct reference to the white nationalists who carried bamboo candle holders during their march in Charlottesville, USA, in August.

The show's creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have previously said that they will be backing away from directly addressing President Donald Trump in the new season, telling ABC news that he was "too hard to satirise, because satire has become reality".

South Park is now in its 21st season, making it the fourth longest-running scripted TV show in US history.
