Married At First Sight NZ 2017: Aaron speaks out about 'confronting' episode

Married At First Sight's Aaron has spoken out about his reaction to Sunday night's episode, saying it was "confronting" to watch.

"Ben and I couldn't watch the episode together, so we couldn't really talk each other through what we were thinking and what we were saying," he told Newshub.

His husband, Ben, has received a heavy load of social media backlash after interviews on the episode in which he said he "didn't want to kiss" Aaron, and that he didn't find him attractive.

Cryptically, Aaron told us on Monday the reaction "is now making a lot more sense knowing what was going through his mind".

"Everything has kind of fallen into place now."

Far from being resentful over the comments, Aaron said that while he appreciated the support, he would encourage viewers to tone down their "brutal comments".

"There's been quite a bit of backlash for Ben, and what's done is done and what been said has been said. But I think there's a fine line between people posting their opinions and people bullying.

"For social media users out there you've got to remember there's a person behind the screen that you're typing to, and as much as you may not like the way someone's been portrayed they still have feelings and what you say hurts.
