Hit zombie TV shows The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead are set to finally cross over, franchise creator Robert Kirkman has announced.
The fan-pleasing announcement was made during a panel at New York Comic-Con, before being confirmed on Twitter by US network AMC.
"We've finally gotten to a place [with Fear the Walking Dead] where we can play with some things," Kirkman said.
He teased only a little more information on the crossover, saying it'll start with one character featuring in both shows.
"There is one character that is going to go from one show - that I will not name - and appear in the other show - that I will not name."
Previously, Kirkman said a crossover would never happen, but has finally relented to fan desire, while still insisting the two shows would remain separate and distinct from one another.
"We want these shows to have their own legs, and have their own stories and be their own."
Season three of Fear the Walking Dead is currently airing, while season eight of The Walking Dead premieres later this month.
