Fresh off releasing the wildly successful Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi has announced he has another project in the works - a TV adaptation of What We Do in the Shadows.
Waititi told Fandango that he's working on trying to adapt the hilarious Kiwi comedy to a format suitable for TV in the United States.
"We're trying to develop a US version of What We Do in the Shadows. You know, set here in the states, but a TV show," he said.
Never one to forget New Zealand he also confirmed that he's working on a spinoff set in NZ, following the What We Do in the Shadows cops as they investigate paranormal activity.
According to Waititi, that project is going ahead and they're "trying to start shooting in New Zealand" soon.
A US remake may make some fans nervous, but Waititi's involvement may ensure the show does not forget its roots.
