Zoe Marshall, wife of NRL star Benji Marshall, has opened up about escaping an abusive relationship and shared sickening details of domestic violence.

The 33-year-old television presenter said she feared she'd be killed by her former boyfriend and even contemplated suicide.

Zoe gave an interview with The Daily Telegraph about the abuse she claims to have been subjected to by an unnamed man.

"I had moments where I thought 'I'm going to die' or 'I'm going to kill him because I'm so full of rage, I'm going to do something that I cannot take back'," she said.

"I was so scared of how far I could go and how far he could go when we were in that place."

Zoe said she had her head split open after it was slammed against a brick wall during one attack, was dragged across the floor by her hair and had plates of food thrown at her.

She's now pregnant with her and Benji's first child and credits the West Tigers star with helping her recover emotionally.

"It does raise its head in our marriage and when we started dating it was this horrific thing and I would bring in my baggage from it," Zoe said.

"Some previous partners couldn't cope and it ended the relationship. Thank God I had someone like Benji who went 'this is really full-on but I'm going to be patient with it' - and we still have a therapist."

Zoe has now launched a fashion line called Ruled By None which aims to raise awareness and funds for Share The Dignity, a charity supporting women and girls who are victims of domestic violence and homelessness.
