Baby Driver was one of the biggest films of the year; one of the rare ones that wasn't a supehero movie or sequel.
While director Edgar Wight has never made a sequel in the past for any of his previous success stories, including Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End says he plans following up with a sequel to Baby Driver.
"Those talks are already in the works," Wright told Entertainment Weekly on the weekend. "The deal is being hammered out as we speak. So, hopefully, I'm going to at least write a second one."
The first one starred Ansel Elgort as a music-obsessed getaway driver who attempts to break free of his job driving around bank robbers, while falling in love with waitress Debora (Lily James).
For the next one, the director said he has "lots of ideas".
"Whether it's the next movie, I don't know. I'm just working that out at the moment, actually. I have a couple of things that I've been developing, and also a couple of new ideas that I had, and all the nice things that I've been offered since [the release of Baby Driver].
"I would like to get back on the saddle very shortly, because there was four years between The World's End and Baby Driver. I don't want it to be that long again. I would love to have a film out in the next two years."
