Pete Souza, Chief Official White House Photographer, has released a 300-page book documenting Barack Obama's White House reign.

From watching his daughter's basketball match to a conference call with European leaders, whatever the former US president did, Mr Souza was often at his side.

He took nearly 2 million pictures over the eight years the Obamas were at the White House.

Since setting up a personal Instagram account in January this year, Mr Souza has gained 1.6 million followers and often shares his favourite photos he captured, as well as occasionally throwing subtle shade at current US President Donald Trump.

Obama: An Intimate Portrait documents some of the most consequential hours of the former president's time in power coupled with candid shots of the Obama family.

It's on sale now.
