A six-year-old has been named among YouTube's highest earners, reportedly raking in NZ$15.9 million over the past year.

The United States boy shot to fame after a video of him opening a Lightning McQueen egg went viral in 2015.

The video platform earned $169 million from June 2016 through June 2017.
