The 31-year-old hasn't had a lead role in a major motion picture since 2006's Just My Luck and now has set her sights on Avengers director Joss Whedon's upcoming superhero movie.
Lohan took to Twitter to express her interest in the role and urged her followers to spam Whedon over it.
"[Retweet] if I should star in the new Batgirl movie and everyone tell [Joss Whedon]," she tweeted, with a kiss and heart emoji.
Whedon has yet to tweet a response.
The current status of the Batgirl movie is unknown as the whole roster of DC Comics adaptations at Warner Bros is apparently undergoing a shake-up following disappointing results for Justice League.
