French actress Marion Cotillard has spoken out in support of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern following Ms Ardern's pregnancy announcement on Friday.

"Motherhood is a strength that we have and its difficulties we need to work with," she said at the Unifrance Rendezvous a Paris Film Festival in Paris, with her one-year-old daughter by her side.
"If they can't fire you they will put you aside or [sideline you some other way].
"Working and taking care of the kids - it's a big organisation. I have the chance to have the kids with me because I can afford a nanny, but I think about women who work and have two or three kids and no help. I mean, I just... parents are heroes."
When asked whether she had advice for Ms Ardern regarding balancing her work and a baby, Cotillard simply said, "She'll manage."
"Actually, my advice would be for the [New Zealanders] who hired her, and I would say you better keep her."
Her comments were first reported on Stuff.
Cotillard also spoke out about the #MeToo movement and the French actresses railing against it, such as Catherine Deneuve and Brigitte Bardot.
"I think this revolution that is happening right now is necessary; this is a great revolution.
"Catherine Deneuve has her freedom of speech and I respect her as a free woman, but I don't recognise myself at all in what they wrote, what they signed."
