Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller has hinted at an eighth season of her hit show, despite being imprisoned.

The 51-year-old convicted fraudster quit the show last year as her prison sentence was looming, but now appears keen on a return.

"Missing my studio today," Miller said on Instagram this week.

"Can't wait to get back to teaching #dance #dancemoms."

Miller's post quickly gained thousands of comments with fans eager on more Dance Moms, but some were confused about how she was Instagramming from prison, or if she was indeed still behind bars.

Last month, Miller posted a photo of herself in the Victorville Federal Correctional that demonstrated dramatic weight loss. The image was later removed from her account.

It's unclear who is running her social media accounts while she is behind bars, although her posts are generally written in the first-person.

In March, 2017, Miller said she was quitting Dance Moms after being treated "like dirt".

"I will no longer take part in Dance Moms," she wrote on Instagram, in a post that has not been removed.

"For the past six years/seven seasons, I have asked, begged and even demanded creative credit for all the ideas, award-winning routines, themes and costuming to no avail.

"I just have a problem with being manipulated, disrespected and used - day in and day out - by men who never took a dance lesson in their lives and treat women like dirt."

Miller started her 366 day sentence on July 12, 2017, which would mean she was scheduled for release on July 13, 2018. However, multiple reports suggest she'll be let out much earlier, with May 25 reportedly listed on a federal record.
