Welcome back to Mr G’s room guys.

It's been announced Summer Heights High creator and star Chris Lilley will be returning to our screens, with a new 10-part Netflix series in the works. Deadline reports that so far Lilley isn't revealing anything about the plot, or whether he will be bringing back popular characters such as Ja'mie or Mr G.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced the show will film between March and June in Queensland, "I am delighted to have enticed Chris Lilley and producer Laura Waters to Queensland," she said in a statement on Monday. "The series will employ up to 250 Queensland cast and extras, plus around 100 Queensland crew.

"The project will also support two local screen practitioners, who will have the opportunity to work on the series to further develop their professional skills."

Princess Pictures, Lilley's production company, will develop the series. They produced two of his prior series; Summer Heights High spin-offs Ja'mie: Private School Girl and Jonah from Tonga.

Despite his popularity, Lilley has faced criticism for the use of blackface in Summer Heights High follow-up Angry Boys, which saw Lilley taking up the role of a black rapper.
