Mr Worldwide is becoming Mr Global Ambassador and will address the United Nations this week.

Pitbull will appear before the UN on March 22, World Water Day, to receive the 2018 World Water Champion Award.

The 'I know You Want Me' artist is being recognised for his work as an ambassador for Clean Water Here, an "on-going initiative to promote the need for safe drinking water in the United States and abroad by raising awareness, supporting research and education, and advocating for underserved communities".

Bruno Mars, Pink, Maroon 5 and other celebs have joined the campaign.

"Our leaders need to undersand that economy and environment are not mutually exclusive. One is not more important than the other," Pitbull said in a statement.

"Try counting your money while holding your breath, starving and dehydrating at the same time. All life needs water."

During Hurricane Maria last year, Pitbull offered up his own jet to cancer patients in Puerto Rico, so they could travel to hospitals in the United States.
