The ex-Disney star had the transplant to alleviate symptoms of lupus, which she's suffered from since childhood.
The transplant resulted In emergency surgery after one of her arteries broke. Doctors took a vein from her leg to build a new artery and keep the kidney in place. The large scar from that procedure is evident on her upper thigh.
