Comedian Bill Cosby's sexual assault re-trial to begin

Bill Cosby's sexual assault retrial is set to begin overnight - and this time, he won't just face one accuser in court.

Cosby has hired a high-profile lawyer to represent him. Lawyer Tom Mesereau, who is best known for the acquittal of Michael Jackson on child molestation charges in 2005, will defend him.

The comedian faces three charges of aggravated indecent assault dating back to 2004.

It's his second sexual assault trial in less than a year - but this one is set during a post-#MeToo era, a fact some say could have an effect on the jury.

His first trial ended with a hung jury last year.

Cosby is charged with the alleged drugging and sexual assault of Andrea Constand in 2004, an encounter he claims was consensual.
