A new Marvel comic has put a New Zealand town on the world stage.
The sleepy West Coast town of Greymouth is pictured in Avengers #688 alongside other world locations Rio De Janeiro, New York and Yokohama.
The Avengers, also known as Earth's Mightiest Heroes, are a team of superheroes that has included the likes of Thor, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther, the Incredible Hulk, Captain America and Hercules.
In Avengers #688, Quicksilver races around Earth trying to save it, while evil The Challenger, aka Grandmaster Prime, lays siege to the planet - including the South Island town.
The comic was released in the US on Wednesday and will be out in New Zealand on Friday.
Meanwhile, hotly anticipated film Avengers: Infinity War will be released in cinemas later this month.
