Daniel Day-Lewis will be remembered for many things - his knighthood, his Academy Award-winning performance in Lincoln, and now most notably for using a flip-phone in the year 2018.
The Last of the Mohicans actor was spotted by US journalist Karen Han on the New York subway. She told The Hollywood Reporter she "was 100 percent sure" it was the world-famous character actor.
"Daniel Day-Lewis is on my train and casually just looking at his flip phone," Han wrote, then added a photo for "everyone who asked for pictorial evidence".
The internet immediately went into overdrive, including Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson.
"Wonder how many people just did a quick shopping search for flip phones. Besides me," he tweeted.
Meanwhile Daniel Kibblesmith asked the question everyone was thinking.
Day-Lewis is the only actor in history to win three best actor Oscars. He was nominated for Best Actor at this year's Academy Awards for Phantom Thread, but Gary Oldman ended up winning for Darkest Hour.
