Steve Irwin has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Crocodile Hunter star was an Australian zookeeper and television personality before he was killed by a stingray in 2006.

His wife Terri and children Bindi and Robert were at the unveiling, along with a scaly friend. The family brought along a giant snake, which they struggled to pull back as it slithered across the star.

A teary-eyed Bindi told the crowd her father would have loved to have been at the ceremony.

Her brother Robert tweeted: "Woo-Hoo…it was such a privilege to unveil Dad's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today.

"So wonderful for everything dad was passionate about to be remembered here forever. What an honour."
