John Cena has responded to a humorous threat from fellow WWE legend Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson with a graphic description about his bottom.

It happened on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, where the two men - who were both promoting their respective latest movies - appeared one night after the other.

Cena and Johnson both acknowledged that they used to be rivals, inside and outside the ring, but had become friends - albeit with a caveat from The Rock.

"Dwayne Johnson wants to remind you that if he you ever act up, he'll knock your teeth so far down your throat that you'll have to stick a toothbrush up your ass to brush them," Kimmel told Cena.

"I'm not going to take that," replied Cena, before riffing on a famous The Rock taunt.

"So your threat to me is you wanna clean my butt? Do you really want to smell what John Cena's putting out?"

Cena also referenced Blockers in the fiery response, his new comedy which features an outrageous scene where he 'butt-chugs' beer, by having a funnel inserted into his anus.

"If you think you're making threats to me by thinking shoving a toothbrush up my bum is a threat, I've got some advice for you, pal... watch Blockers and then watch it again! Because if you think shoving a toothbrush up my butt is a threat, you've got news coming pal. There's been a funnel up there, there's been a parking cone, there's more traffic in that region than a Monday on the 405 in both directions!

"You wanna clean my butt? OK pal, you got the job. But if I was you, I'd bring a bodysuit and latex gloves because down there is like a Mississippi cornfield in a downpour. It is just all mud and vegetation."

Dwayne Johnson is yet to respond.
