Did Selena Gomez just throw shade at her own Met Gala look?

Selena Gomez has taken to Instagram to address the less-than-favourable reaction her Met Gala 2018 look received.

The 'Come And Get It' singer wore a gown by Coach, custom-designed for her as the face of the label. She finished the look with a curly up-do and some very extreme body-bronzing.

Gomez posted a video on Instagram showing her running away in her gown, captioned: "Me when I saw my pictures from MET," followed by a shrug emoji.

Twitter commentators well and truly went in on Gomez's red carpet appearance.

"Whoever gave Selena Gomez that spray tan tonight is holding a secret grudge against her," one wrote.

The jury is still out on whether her post means the pop star regrets her wardrobe choices, or simply doesn't care about the haters. She did seem to enjoy herself on the night.

Speaking about how her outfit fitted into the gala's theme 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination', Gomez said: "The theme of the dress, I wanted it to kind of capture Queen Esther, in the Bible. I admire her strength and I think that's what I wanted it to feel like."

The singer also said she thought her relationship with Jesus was "in check", while carrying a Coach bag embossed with the message: "A woman who fears the Lord is a woman who shall be praised."

She might fear God, but she's not scared of poking a bit of fun at herself.
