A father and son duo has blown away notoriously critical judge Simon Cowell on Britain's Got Talent.

12-year-old Jack and his dad Tim earned the show's highest honour with a golden buzzer, sending the pair straight to the show's live weeks.

The duo from Norwich stole the Cowell's heart with an original song, 'The Lucky Ones'.

The meaning of the song, according to the talented 12-year old, is "how lucky we are to have what we have".

Moved by the poignant performance, Cowell hit the buzzer to fast-track the pair along the competition.

Judges Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden had tears streaming down their face as they joined in the applause.

Tim, a fulltime father to Jack and his siblings, joined the judges and the crowd in a standing ovation for his son.

The pair was cheered on by emotional family members in the crowd.
