Tapapakanga Regional Park has been announced as the location of Donald Glover's upcoming PHAROS festival.

Glover, aka Childish Gambino, shocked New Zealand fans when he announced the three-day camping festival in March 2018.

It will be taking place November 23-25.

Details about the location were given to ticketholders in a surprise email, which was leaked to Newshub via an anonymous insider source.

The campground is on the outskirts of the Auckland region, just over an hour's drive from the central city, and is known for hosting the Splore Festival.

Shuttle services will be operating to take ticketholders from Auckland central and the airport out to the campground.

Camping equipment will be available to rent on site as will parking. Festival goers are welcome to bring their own tents.
