Dancing with the Stars NZ: Judges ruin David Seymour's birthday after 'total bummer' routine

  • 24/06/2018

Birthday boy David Seymour has undone all his improvement from last week in what has cruelly been labelled a Paso No-ble by Dancing with the Stars NZ judges.

After an energetic but clumsy performance to Blur's 'Song 2' on Sunday night, Mr Seymour was savaged by the judging panel despite widespread support from the studio audience and voters.

"It wasn't a Paso Doble - it was a Paso No-ble," said Julz. "I'm really disappointed actually, David. It's sad. I'm sorry. I'm speechless."

The other judges were just as harsh in their criticism.

"Last week was finally a move in the right direction, but tonight was a total bummer. There was a lot of timing mistakes," said Rachel. "I really wish that you would've spent time required practising for this dance."

"That wasn't just a step in the wrong direction, that was like a march backwards from last week," Camilla added.

"You really do deserve to be here like everybody else… but I honestly believe that today was under-rehearsed."

Seymour received 4, 5 and 4 for a dismal total of 13.

Viewers can help keep their favourite dancer in the competition by texting their first name to 3333 - each text costs 99c and net proceeds go to that star's chosen charity.
