Five puppies, one quest: The new adorable documentary

Pick of the Litter is set to hit your cuteness quota later this year. It follows a group of five puppies for two years as they are trained to become guide dogs from birth.

The two females and three males are given to volunteer "puppy raisers" who train and raise the dogs to become guide dogs.

After the film debuted at international film festivals in January, the Sydney Film Festival said the movie really "demonstrate(s) the independence that guide dogs can provide".

It's not an easy job - some of the dogs won't make the cut in the end.

A date of release isn't yet set for New Zealand, so until then, enjoy the trailer.
