Jared Leto is set for the lead role in Morbius, a Spider-Man spinoff based on the villain of the same name.
The 46-year-old actor and musician played the Joker in Suicide Squad, a character he's set to reprise in several potential future DC Comics movies.
Leto's just-announced role in Sony's Morbius, adapted from the Marvel comics, will need to be scheduled around those.

Introduced in 1971, anti-hero Morbius becomes a pseudo-vampire after using an experimental treatment on his debilitating blood disease.
He has typical vampire characteristics including superhuman healing and flying abilities, as well as an aversion to sunlight.
The character began as a Spider-Man nemesis in The Amazing Spider-Man #101, but later evolved into his own freestanding comic hero.
According to Deadline, Daniel Espinosa (Life) will direct Morbius, which will be written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, the creators of Netflix's Lost in Space.
Further details, including when Morbius will be released, have not yet been revealed.
