Ariana Grande has defended herself and fellow pop star Justin Bieber after they were both ridiculed for getting engaged early on in their relationships.

Grande recently got engaged to comedian and actor Pete Davidson after just weeks of dating, and Bieber reportedly proposed to his partner Hailey Baldwin, a model and actor, over the weekend.

Fans have blamed the musicians' shared manager Scooter Braun for causing them to get engaged so quickly.

People have been trolling the pair on social media, and blaming Braun for what they see as premature engagements, with one fan tweeting: "The devil works hard but Scooter Braun works harder."

Grande has hit back on her own social media channels, tweeting: "Be nice to that man. he's wonderful. and very human. always puts his artists' health and happiness first."

In another tweet that has now been deleted, Grande said: "You do realize we are human beings who love and have lives...right? And that Scooter is a wonderful human being too who cares first n foremost [about] our health and happiness?"

Two women at a Bahamas resort witnessed Bieber popping the question Saturday night in a crowd of salsa dancers, according to TMZ.

Bieber and Baldwin had previously dated and are said to have rekindled their romance about a month ago following his split up with Selena Gomez.
