Zac Efron has been accused of cultural appropriation after he posted a photo of his new dreadlocks to Instagram.
The Greatest Showman star shared the photo with the caption "just for fun" receiving more than 18,000 comments, not all of them positive.
One Instagram user commented that considering Efron's privilege and world experience, he should know what cultural appropriation is. Another said he should have stuck with High School Musical.

Others disagreed, saying he or anyone else should be able to wear their hair however they want.
Instagram user copperchick14 said, "Hairstyles don't 'belong' to a specific race. Who cares how he wears his hair, it's HIS and he shouldn't get any 'backlash' about it. I think it looks fun, just like he said."
The A-lister hasn't commented on the matter.
