Britney Spears has reportedly been ordered to pay ex-husband Kevin Federline US$110,000 as part of their ongoing child support battle.

The 'Oops... I Did It Again' singer is being told to hand over the money to help with Kevin's legal costs and fees, according to court documents E! News claims to have seen.

Britney and Kevin's latest court battle started earlier this month - he wants to be paid more in child support.

According to gossip website TMZ, she has been paying him US$20,000 each month. On top of that, she pays for various expenses related to the pair's two children, with it all adding up to around US$35,000 each month.

Kevin's lawyers now reportedly want Britney to pay him US$60,000 every month, "given that the kids are older and the financial circumstances of the parties are significantly different than when the child support was originally resolved".

The US$110,000 payment has been ordered from Britney partly over "forensic accounting fees" Kevin's team is claiming.

"If Britney and the conservators continue to fight tooth and nail about turning over any financial information, this will not be the last fee order they're ordered to pay me on Kevin's behalf," his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan told E! News.

"It's puzzling why they're putting so much energy into fighting the disclosure of her finances but I'm not deterred. We will get there eventually, it's just a question of how much they want to cost themselves creating speed bumps on the road to the ultimate destination."

Britney and Kevin's next few hearings will reportedly be with a private settlement judge, to see if they can agree on "some interim findings that would avoid all-out, hand-to-hand litigation combat".
