The Queen paid tribute to Aretha Franklin on Friday when the Welsh Guards Band performed a rendition of 'Respect' during the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace.

Franklin's funeral was held in Detroit on Friday night US time.

The eight hour invitation-only funeral featured speeches by former president Bill Clinton, fellow politician Jesse Jackson and musician Smokey Robinson, as well as performances by Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande.

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, who is rumoured to play the late singer in an upcoming biopic, performed a near perfect version of Amazing Grace.

Franklin died in hospital at age 76 on August 16 after suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer.
