Birthday girl Pink parties into the night at Auckland whiskey bar

Pop superstar Pink celebrated her 39th birthday in Auckland on Saturday night, partying into the early morning hours at a central city bar.

The singer, whose real name is Alecia Moore, was surrounded by friends, family and crew at The Jefferson whiskey bar in Auckland's Fort Lane.

Pink, who is in New Zealand as part of her Beautiful Trauma world tour, celebrated her birthday following another sold-out performance at Spark Arena.

The 'Get The Party Started' hitmaker had an area of the bar roped off and a security team preventing members of the public from entering the function.

Pink was in great spirits, and was seen dancing with her crew and embracing her husband, former professional freestyle motocross rider Carey Hart.

Eyewitness Dave Moore said it was surreal to see her out in the city.

"I couldn't believe it was her. She looked to be really enjoying herself and her time in Auckland. Her crew were very protective of her, asking people not to bother her and let her enjoy her birthday."

Many of the party guests were wearing T-shirts especially made for the birthday, with Pink's image on them.

Earlier in the day, the chart-topper's husband posted birthday wishes to her on his Instagram account and jokingly referred to the day as her 40th.

"We have been together almost 17 years, and it has been a true blessing to watch you grow from a crazy lil girl to a strong woman. Through all of our ups and downs you have always been a loving and consistent person. I'm so proud of the woman, mother, performer, and partner you have become," he said.

"Happy 40th!"

The couple are visiting New Zealand with their children Willow Sage, aged seven, and one-and-a-half-year-old Jameson Moon.
