Demi Lovato spotted outside rehab facility for first time since drug overdose

Demi Lovato has been spotted for the first time since she was rushed to hospital for a drug overdose in July of this year.

A photo obtained by TMZ showed the pop star looking relaxed as she spoke with a woman walking a dog. She wore a cap low over her eyes, but appeared to be smiling.

According to the gossip website, the photo was taken near the rehab facility where Lovato was working on her recovery. She had reportedly also been seen out with ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, who was said to have spent hours by her hospital bed.

The image gave fans their first glimpse of the 'Skyscraper' singer in public, almost two months to the day after she was discovered unconscious at her Hollywood Hills home.

Emergency service sources reportedly said Lovato was revived with Narcan, a treatment used for opiod overdoses.

After two weeks in Cedars-Sinai Hospital, the singer broke her silence and addressed her ongoing struggle with addiction in an Instagram post.

"What I've learned is that this illness is not something disappears or fades with time" she wrote.

"It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet... I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery."

Prior to her overdose, Lovato released a song called 'Sober', in which she admitted to falling off the wagon after six years clean from drugs and alcohol.
