Ariana Grande has disabled comments on her Instagram account after trolls flooded her page with horrible messages following the news of ex Mac Miller's death

Miller, 26, was found dead in a bedroom at his San Fernando Valley home outside Los Angeles about midday on Friday (local time) after suffering an apparent drug overdose.

Some fans were quick to blame the pop singer, who split from the rapper in May after two years together, for his sudden death.

One message stated, "You did this to him, smh."

Another person wrote, "I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY WITH PETE," referring to her current engagement to Pete Davidson.

Some used swear words and threats in their posts, with one person stating: "Ariana Grande killed my n***a Mac Miller bro that bitch can burn... idc."

A number of social media users wrote, "THIS IS YOUR FAULT," shortly after reports confirmed he had died.

LAPD and fire officials attended the scene at Miller's Studio City home before a coroner arrived. The songwriter's body was seen being carted out of the home just before 4pm on Friday (local time).

In a statement, Miller's family acknowledged his creative work and asked for space to grieve.

"Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26.

"He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers.

"Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time."
