More FM's Lana Searle discharged from hospital, admits 'dark thoughts' post-hysterectomy

More FM host Lana Searle has been released from hospital following a hysterectomy.

Last week, the broadcaster revealed she would be temporarily leaving the breakfast show to recover from the operation after battling health complications caused in part by the contraceptive pill.

Searle has kept followers updated throughout her hospitalisation, documenting some of the hard times that followed the major surgery.

"I'll be honest, I'm going a bit crazy in here," she said on her Instagram story over the weekend.

"Hard core hallucinating pain relief, heaps of dark thoughts, lots of pain, no independence. #HonestReview."

After being allowed out for some fresh air in her wheelchair yesterday, Searle's latest update shows her being discharged from hospital.

"Release time," she captioned a video taken from the lobby.

The breakfast show host followed up with a video from her bed at home, explaining she had suffered a "severe bladder infection and signs of pneumonia" before being sent home.

Last week, fellow More FM host Jason Gunn made an emotional speech on the "hell" his "sister from another mister" had gone through over the past couple of years.

"Typically, she hasn't complained to a lot of people. She's suffered quietly for a long, long time," he said.

Gunn said that his former co-host had been "let down" by some people in the medical profession, but that she was a "brave, brave soul".

Searle is expected to be off-air for around a month while she recovers.
