The end of Shortland Street's beloved Nick and Waverley Harrison broke hearts around the country - but according to a Facebook ad targeted at Kiwis, the couple are still happy together.

Spotted by a sharp-eyed social media user, a screenshot of a sponsored post for 'Good Day 1' was posted to content rating website Reddit.

The post shows two images cropped beside each other - one a downcast photo of Karl Burnett's character Nick, and the other a more upbeat photo of him with Waverley, played by Claire Chitham.

It appears the image was flipped from a publicity shoot used for media when the actors reunited for the 25th anniversary the iconic New Zealand series, which screened May 25 last year.

"Ex bankrupt back to millionaire using this 'Don't miss this opportunity' says Karl," the post read.

The social headline used in the post states: "Ex bankrupt back to millionaire using this 'Don't miss this opportunity' says Karl.

The caption claims that Karl "recovered from bankruptcy by simply using this" and states that "anyone can do it and talks about it [sic] on 'TVNZ Breakfast' show".

A number of Reddit users found the use of the fictitious couple's image rather amusing, one person joking: "You're not in credit now, Dr Ropata."

Another hilariously penned "PLEASE tell me that is not your pension," in reference to a recent Shortland Street gaffe where Chris Warner exclaimed to son Harry: "Please tell me that's not your penis."

The business page for Good Day 1 has 174 likes, and there is no information on the companies about section. At the time of publishing, the post could not be found on the Good Day 1 page.

The page has a smattering of posts since its first profile picture was uploaded on August 8, often associated with travel content reposted from the Europe's Best Destinations website.
