Singer Troye Sivan has denounced Eminem's use of a homophobic slur on his new album Kamikaze.
Speaking to Variety, Sivan - who publicly came out as gay in 2013 - weighed in on the controversial lyric used by Eminem to diss fellow rapper Tyler, The Creator.

"I don't think there's ever really a reason," Sivan said, referring to the line in which Eminem raps: "Tyler create nothing... see why you call yourself a f****t, bitch."
"I just feel like some words are not meant for everyone, or for anyone," Sivan continued. "It's not that hard to respect that, so I just hope that people do."
On Sivan's album Blue Neighbourhood, the 23-year-old sings about his experiences as a young gay man, from coming out to falling in love, which he illustrates with his music videos.
"I think that repeated behaviour is something that should be taken really seriously," Sivan said.
"If the person showed enough genuine remorse and understanding of how they've hurt people and actively made strides to correct that... I would like to believe I can be fine with that person," he added.
Since the release of Eminem's surprise album Kamikaze, he has back-tracked on his use of the word on his track 'Fall', saying it might have been "too far".
"In my quest to hurt him, I realize that I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it," he told Sway Calloway in an interview.
Despite this apparent realisation, Slim Shady was again slammed as homophobic when he went on to target rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) in a similar manner on the diss track 'Killshot.'
In one line, Eminem says MGK would "suck a d**k" to be him for a second, before commenting on his "blonde hair and earrings".
