Mark Richardson has left Twitter, saying he finds the website "vile" and doesn't want to be on it anymore.
The AM Show sportsreader said on Tuesday he had come to the conclusion that if he didn't like it, he should walk the talk and get off the website.
"I actually deleted my Twitter account the other day," he said.
"I just thought, you know what, if I think this place is a vile place for vile people, people who actually think they're good people send vile tweets, then perhaps I've got walk the talk and get out of it myself."
Host Duncan Garner agreed and said he feels a lot better since deleting his Twitter account in October 2017.
"I find myself less frustrated as an individual now for coming off Twitter... I'm a much better, happier, more satisfied person for coming off Twitter," he said.
"I don't want to go back and I never have been."
Garner had received backlash on the site over a column he wrote about going to Kmart to buy underwear and becoming concerned about the number of immigrants waiting in line.
At the time Garner called the site "New Zealand's underbelly of militant hate" and said he would no longer be putting up with it.
"It's a foul and putrid place to hang out, I reckon. It's full of intolerant, self-appointed pseudo-intellectuals who will not put up with anybody who dare contests an idea in their echo chamber of elitists and anger. That's what they are."
