Cardi B arrested and charged with assault over strip club attack

Rapper Cardi B was arrested in New York on Monday (local time) in relation to a fight at a strip club in August.

The 'I Like It' rapper was charged with assault and reckless endangerment over the incident, in which two women in their early 20s were injured.

She voluntarily handed herself in to police.

A public information officer confirmed the women, "were attacked with chairs, bottles and other items," at around 3am on August 29, according to US Weekly.

TMZ reports the victims were two bartenders named Baddie Gi and Jade.

The gossip website alleges that Cardi ordered the attack because she suspected one of the women had slept with her husband, rapper Offset.

The hip hop artist had a mug shot taken and will appear in court later this month. She smiled and waved at paparazzi as she left the station.

Last month, Cardi made headlines for allegedly hurling a shoe at fellow rapper Nicki Minaj during a scuffle at New York Fashion week.
