Chris Hemsworth delighted an American hitchhiker by giving him a ride from Brisbane to Byron Bay - in a helicopter.
The Thor star has been labelled a "true Aussie champion" for the act of kindness to musician Scott Hildebrand, who had just arrived in Australia from Mexico.

Hemsworth posted an edited video of the experience on his Instagram account.
"Picked up a hitchhiker, wasn't a serial killer which we were stoked about and just happened to be a kick ass musician," Hemsworth captioned the post, which quickly amassed nearly 2 million views in a day.
In the video, he jokingly tells Hildebrand he's got to "chip in for the gas", which he reckons is AU$40000.
"The experience was so cool and unexpected," Hildebrand told E! News.
"They're so nice and I couldn't believe it was happening."
Comments on Hemsworth's Instagram post include him being called "one amazing man" and a "true Aussie champion". Another commenter left a love heart along with the line: "I am so insanely jealous".
Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky are in the final stages of constructing a multi-million dollar, six-bedroom mansion in Broken Head, near Byron Bay.
