Eminem has taken his song 'Venom' to new heights, performing it at the top of the Empire State Building in New York City on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The pre-recorded performance saw the rapper ascend 103 floors, stopping for a brief comedy interlude with Kimmel's side-kick Guillermo Rodriguez, before taking to the stage near the top of the tower.

Eminem's website billed the performance as the "first of its kind", backed by a custom light show that illuminated the Empire State Building as helicopters and cameras circled around it.

"KING KONG AINT GOT $#*! ON ME!" the Grammy Award-winner tweeted ahead of the show.

'Venom', a single from Eminem's latest album Kamikaze, is the title track of the eponymous Marvel film starring Tom Hardy.

The surprise album also featured the song 'Not Alike,' in which the rapper took aim at fellow hip-hop artist Machine Gun Kelly, sparking a public feud between the two.
