Eminem's 2019 Wellington show sells out in under an hour

Eminem's one and only upcoming New Zealand concert sold out less than an hour after tickets to the general public went on sale.

The 'Kill You' hitmaker is set to perform at Wellington's Westpac Stadium on March 2, 2019.

After a few limited pre-sales periods expired, the bulk of the 40,000 tickets were made available to purchase at 10am on Tuesday morning.

"All currently available tickets are in the process of being purchased. We have now exhausted our current allocation," Ticketek posted to Facebook shortly before 11am.

Resale websites Viagogo and Ticketmaster Resale already have tickets available at inflated prices.

A Ticketek spokesman told Stuff tickets sold with an "incredibly high velocity" that "totally vindicated the decision to go to Wellington".

Eminem has only ever performed in New Zealand once before, at Auckland's Western Springs Stadium in 2014.

His management is now reportedly discussing the possibility of further 2019 shows in Aotearoa.
