Did Taylor Swift throw her snotty used tissue at fans at her Auckland show?

US pop superstar Taylor Swift performed at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium on Friday night, and social media thinks she threw her Kiwi fans a gift - a used tissue.

Footage from the rainy concert shows the 'Look What You Made Me Do' hitmaker turn away from her audience of thousands and blow into a tissue.

"I have a little bit of a cold," the singer remarks. "This isn't our first rain show."

"I'm so sorry about this," she said, before throwing the tissue down into what looks like the crowd and laughing it off.

While some at the show groaned and expressed their disgust at the singer, footage obtained by Newshub appears to show the tissue land with Swift's security team, not in the moshpit of fans as other outlets reported.

Swift's throwaway gift was preceded by a performance in the rain, which she described as "magical", of her songs 'Dancing With Our Hands Tied' and 'Out Of The Woods'.

The music video for 'Out Of The Woods' was filmed in New Zealand, something the singer told her thousands-strong audience would always make the country special to her.
