Married At First Sight NZ contestant Ottie Schwartz convicted of drink-driving

Married At First Sight NZ contestant Ottie Schwartz has pleaded guilty to her drink-driving charge.

Schwartz was convicted of drink-driving in the Christchurch District Court on Wednesday, Court News reports.

She pleaded guilty and has been disqualified from driving for six months and fined $400.

The 32-year-old blew a reading of 473 micrograms of alcohol per litre of while driving on Avalon St - 73 micrograms over the legal limit for court prosecution.

The incident reportedly occurred on October 28 - the same day the explosive finale of MAFS NZ aired on Three.

In an Instagram post, Schwartz opened up after being charged, captioning the phrase "I disappoint myself".

"I am taking full responsibility for making the wrong decision, and I'm annoyed at myself for letting my emotions get in the way of logical thinking," she says.

"I have no interest in hiding it, and in true fashion I'm owning it.

"It was a routine stop, it had been three hours since my last drink, I had eaten, and I knew how much I had had to drink. I was upset and thought it was best to leave an awkward situation and go home."

Schwartz also says she wouldn't have gotten behind the wheel if she thought she was over the limit.

She has admitted to physically assaulting a former friend eight years ago at a petrol station.

Schwartz was paired with 26-year-old apprentice barber Gareth Noble during the reality TV experiment, but the couple called it quits after three weeks together.

In the dramatic finale of MAFS NZ, she and husband Gareth had a nasty argument, with him telling her to "shut the f**k up".

Afterwards, she told another participant of the show she would knock Gareth "the f**k out", labelling him a "f**king little bitch".
