Spice Girl Mel B reveals suicide attempt, cocaine habit and plastic surgery in new book

Spice Girl Melanie Brown has reportedly opened up about some of the darkest moments in her life - including suicide attempts, drug use and plastic surgery.

The Daily Mail claims to have obtained an early draft of the Spice Girl's upcoming tell-all memoir, Brutally Honest, in which she says she hopes telling the truth will set her free.

Better known as Mel B or Scary Spice, the 43-year-old reportedly opens up her "saddest moment", in which she says she tried to take her own life in 2014, having attempted once before as a teenager.

"I can't pretend I'm not living in some twisted, violent hell. My life is a mess and I want out," she wrote.

The former pop star says she attributes much of her depression to her rocky relationship with ex-husband, Stephen Belafonte.

"I was at rock bottom...I was exhausted, worn down by seven years of constant emotional abuse, mind games, degradation, threats and sexual exploitation.

"I was drinking too much  wine, vodka, tequila  and had lost all self-respect. I was lost."

Brown also confesses to snorting cocaine daily as a way of coping with constant anxiety and depression while shooting The X Factor.

"I'm not proud of taking cocaine but I can't say it didn't help me to have a line of that white powder when I got up in the morning," she said.

The mother-of-three went on to explain that she has had a number of surgeries on her "face, eyes, boobs and stomach," as well a vaginal rejuvenation procedure.

Brutally Honest is set to be released later this month.
