Kiwi sludge metal band Beastwars is getting back together to help Auckland student radio station 95bFM turn 50 next year.

The rockers are headlining 95bFM Gold - a concert being held at Auckland's Powerstation on February 15.

Also performing at the gig are original True School Hip-Hop line-up members Philip 'Sir-Vere' Bell, Mark 'Slave' Williams and Robin 'Base' Paratene, alongside the show's current hosts: Ev Love, GetBan and Barry Bonza.

Beastwars released their first, self-titled album in 2011 and their last - The Death of All Things - in 2016.

Over the last few years the band has largely been dormant, but ended the hiatus this year for a reportedly sold out nationwide tour.

Miss June will also play at 95bFM Gold.

Tickets are on sale now.
