Jase and Jay-Jay 'arrested' by police for Jingle Bail charity drive

More FM's Jase and Jay-Jay were handcuffed by police officers in Auckland at the start of their Jingle Bail charity drive.

The broadcasters, full names Jason Gunn and Jay-Jay Feeney, are raising $100,000 in 'bail' money before they can be set free - and the money will go to kids in need.

Jase and Jay-Jay are locked inside a 5m x 5m makeshift cell inside Auckland's NorthWest Shopping Centre for the promotion. They plan to eat, sleep and live together there until the fundraising goal has been met.

When the pair was outside the mall enjoying their last moments of fresh air and freedom before being locked up, that's when the law enforcers turned up.

"Oh, police? Guys, what's happening?" said Jay-Jay.

She asked the officer slapping handcuffs on her if they'd "been on a real criminal". When she was told they had, she exclaimed: "Oh gross, I hope you washed them!"

Once restrained, Jase and Jay-Jay were walked through the mall's food court to their cell, protesting their innocence as they went.

"I'm a patsy, guys! I'm a patsy!" cried Jase.

The money raised through Jingle Bail will go towards sending some special children on a Koru Care NZ trip to the Gold Coast.

Jase and Jay-Jay can be observed while locked up via a livestream on the More FM website, which also has details on how to donate to the cause.
