Australian actor Craig McLachlan has been charged with sexual offences.

The offences are alleged to have happened while he was working on a stage show.

McLachlan was accused of inappropriate behaviour by cast-members, during his time on the Rocky Horror Picture show in 2014.

The prominent actor has starred in popular shows including Home and Away and Packed to the Rafters.

He rose to stardom after playing Henry Ramsay in Neighbours at the same time as hitmaker Kylie Minogue.

He now faces ten assault related charges.

McLachlan sought special damages of AU$6.5m in a defamation case against Fairfax Media and the ABC and former co-star Christie Whelan Browne last year.

He is due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 8 February.
