Video has emerged of a Thursday afternoon brawl in Auckland's CBD that allegedly involved US hip-hop group Rae Sremmurd and sent a man to hospital.

The footage, published on US gossip website TMZ, shows at least five people embroiled in a fight.

One man, believed to be Rae Sremmurd member Slim Jxmmi, can be seen being knocked to the ground in the video.

A man was injured with a glass bottle in the brawl and was taken to hospital, where he reportedly underwent surgery, NZME reports.

Police later said in a statement that one man sustained "minor injuries" in the altercation.

Rae Sremmurd is best known for the track 'Black Beatles', which featured in the viral 'mannequin challenge' craze of 2016.

The group is due to perform at Auckland's Logan Campbell Centre on Friday night.

Group member Slim Jxmmi confirmed he was injured in the brawl during an Instagram Live video on Friday morning, Stuff reports.

He posted a video of his wrist on Thursday night, showing ice and bandages taped to it. The video appears to have been taken down.
