Meghan Markle and Prince Harry absent at Kate Middleton's birthday - report

Rumours of a rift between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle won't be put to rest just yet, amidst reports that Kate purposely didn't invite Meghan and Harry to her birthday lunch.

According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess of Cambridge celebrated her 37th birthday at the Norfolk country home she shares with Prince William - but there were two important guests notably absent.

The tabloid suggests that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "didn't get an invite" to the exclusive event, but other media outlets speculate they may have turned down the offer.

Meghan is expected to give birth to her and Prince Harry's first child in April or May, with some estimates pointing to a due date as early as February.

Speculation of dysfunction between the royal 'Fab Four' has been growing since it was announced that Meghan and Harry would be moving to Windsor, reneging on plans to live next to Kate and William.

Since then, reports have surfaced of several pre-wedding dramas between the duchesses. Kate was allegedly "left in tears" during a dress fitting for Princess Charlotte, and was said to have told Meghan her behavior was "unacceptable", after the former Suits star berated a member of staff.

The young royals have been all smiles publicly, however, with Kate telling a fan she was "absolutely" excited for Meghan and Harry's baby late last year.
