'This b*tch lyin' - Chris Brown responds angrily to rape allegations on social media

Chris Brown has responded to reports he was arrested by French police on suspicion of rape in a furious social media post.

Closer magazine reported that Brown had been detained on Monday (local time), along with his bodyguard and friend, after a 24-year-old woman alleged she was raped at the singer's hotel suite earlier this year.

"I wanna make it perfectly clear, this is false and a whole lot of cap! [sic]," he wrote in all caps under an image that stated: "this b!tch lyin".

"Never! For my daughter and my family, this is so disprespectful and is against my character and morals!"

In 2009, Brown was sentenced to five years of probation after he pleaded guilty to savagely assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

The 'Forever' singer went on to have multiple legal troubles, including being arrested and charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly threatening a woman with a gun in 2016.

Many of Brown's 50 million Instagram followers expressed their support for the troubled hip-hop star in the comments of his latest post.

"We know you would never!" one message read. "I am so sorry they won't let you be in peace!"

"What's her motive? Fame or money? Stay positive Chris," said another.

Over on Twitter, not everyone was quite as sympathetic.

"You mean violent women beater, who has just been accused of rape, Chris Brown? Or you talking about a different one?" one tweet read.

"Almost 10 years to the day we found out Chris Brown had brutally assaulted Rihanna. Ten years later, he's been detained in Paris over a rape accusation," said another.

"This same man who asked when people were gonna get over this whole him beating a woman thing. Never, guy. And this is why."

Multiple news outlets report that Brown is still being held in police custody in France.
