The new show will take place at Mt Smart Stadium on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.
The 'Rocket Man' hitmaker was originally scheduled to play three shows across the country in Auckland, Dunedin and Hawkes Bay, but has since added two extra shows.
Earlier this week, it was announced John would play a second night at Mission Estate Winery in Hawkes Bay after presale tickets sold out in under an hour.
Now, the volume of Kiwi fans eager to see the 71-year-old music legend's last hurrah has seen him tack on a second night in Auckland, too.
"Australia and New Zealand, I can't wait to be with you again", said John in a statement.
"Your audiences have always been very generous towards me, and I know that this final tour will be the most memorable ever."
Tickets to the new Auckland show will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, February 21. Pre-sales start at 9am on Wednesday, February 20.
